i used jdm pistons off ebay, mike warme says you can still get oem. if you can find them i would use them first, than aftermarket. us made parts first!!!!! lol. and yes i agree on the bearings too if you have to pull the con rods its good insurance.

dave, that is the same shit that happened to me too and the same cyl too,,,,,,,,,,,, your head may be ok but for sure your cyl 4 valves are bad. take the head to a shop and have them put new valves in it and inspect it for cracks and other odds and ends,,,,,,do not allow them to re surface the head ...

when you tear into that head just remember the 2 stage torque step and the right order of bolts to tighten,,,,,,,,,,,trust me on this.

almost all the acc are different. it runs off a serpentine belt,,,,,,,,,,,,just think about that.........pita...... and an electric vac pump. ours is on the back of the alt. but as far as the internals,,,,,,,,,,same.

nothing i have ever heard,,,,, the oil cooler lines are fed off the oil filter housing. and there is no coolant lines that are near there. this is new to me??????

not a problem Erick just try and work the plunger on your fuel filter while it is running to see if there is a clog. also will it run for a few sec and die and not start right back up?????

yea i got an auto on my diesel. it came out of a 2.6 and it was a single wire sensor on the intake manifold. if you meter it it will be dead till the temp get warm enough than it will be a constant ground. hope this helps.....

short of the big 2 problems,,,,cracked block or head,,,, the head gasket is the cheapest and less times taking approach to this repair..... you could just pull the head and have it inspected by a good machine shop and slap a gasket on it and see........i hope it is the gasket for your sake.......hea...
