Re: my new rims

For tires a 225-50-17 will be close to stock height, a lower aspect ratio will make it shorter in front; for the rear, a 235-45 should fit nicely. Tokico shocks work wonders on our trucks- they have built-in bumpstops inside the shocks to prevent shock failure on lowered trucks. I got over 20 years ...

Re: Another (Steal)deal off ebay

Great, I'll bring it down with me- it is getting fixed as soon as I drop it off this week, unless you want it in pieces.

Re: Another (Steal)deal off ebay

Got someone to rebuild it now- I'd love to dup it, but I'm not sure if I can pull it off. I know you have made parts in the past, could you dup it once it is back together?

Re: A/C thermostat?????

If it has one the wiring comes out of the top of the evap box. Is your evap box open or closed in front under the glovebox; if open, you don't have a thermostat control on it, closed you do. My 80 D-50 has an adjustable stat, the 85 i had didn't. Hopes this helps

Re: Wheel base difference, ext vs std

It should: both have the same wheelbase, just different bodies. But one thing I found out with an 88 2.6 ext cab I had, the auto used the small 2.0 liter u joints, but the 5 speed uses the large u joints. I found out the hard way, in the middle of changing them.

Another (Steal)deal off ebay

I was on ebay last week and came across a Powermaster 200 amp small case GM alt for a starting bid of 50.00. I threw a bid on it and won it; no one else bid on it. Since I already converted my truck to the small case GM, its' just a swapout, and the other one is going into the project truck. Sometim...

Re: looking for a LSD rear differential

Isn't that a bit high for just the carrier? I bought a whole 9" axle out of a 95 montero with all the links and the driveshaft for 200.

Re: may not have a 4th gear!

Also be sure you don't have the temp sensor lead and the solenoid wires switched- that is what I did. There is no separate ground wire from the starter, it grounds to the block and tranny. That wire will appear to come from the starter, its in the bundle coming up from there.

Re: may not have a 4th gear!

I once had a 88 Ram 50 with the Auto OD tranny and had no OD. The fix? the solenoid is grounded to the Intake manifold under the throttle body. I had changed a sensor on mine and unplugged it somehow. It is a single black wire out of the harness. Hope this helps!

Re: Got myself a new dodge (well new to me)

Check the pickup in the dist, they go bad and you lose spark. also check the gear on the dist shaft, they mushroom and fall off. My 91 Dakota with a 5.2 non-magnum did both. PM me if you need parts for this and I'll see if I have what you need.

Re: Exhaust pipe diameter

I went with a 2.25 pipe from the header collector through the high flow cat to a 3 chamber flowmaster to dual 2" pipes out. With the weber carb and a tall air filter it sounds mean and the torque is still good on the low end.

Re: Which 2.0?

If you go the Mazdawg route it is only the 87-88 2600i 4x4 models; 90 and up use a Mazda 2.6l that is totally setup reverse of the Mitsu. The G52b will only fit if it is from a 4 speed truck; automatic truck blocks have different bolt pattern (narrow block).
