Pull A Part

Postby ibfishin » Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:03 am

I am having a time finding trucks in local junkyards and was thinkin of driving to the Pull-a-Part yard in either Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville or Birmingham. They are all about the same from my house and the website shows they all have some trucks. Never been to one. Do the trucks get stipped pretty quick? What can I expect and is it worth the drive?

Take a road trip like Mike said. That's a couple of days worth in the 4 cities you mentioned. Pull A Part can't tell you specific parts left on the truck, but they can tell you if the vehicle is on the yard or not.I live just outside Nashville, and I can tell you the Nashville yard seldom gets any 50's in. They have a 90 model I think right now and that's the first one I've seen in quite awhile.Knoxville seems to get a few in fairly frequently.Happy hunting!
If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you it's yours to keep.If it doesn't come back, hunt it down..and kill it

I went to the one in Birmingham yesterday. They had 4 trucks, 2 1st gen, 2 2nd. Brought home a tailgate, door panels, some seat rails, battery box and nice bug shield off a 88 MM.

Yeah waiting for the second yard in our area to open up. I usually call in advance if I'm needing something. Cash n Carry in Savannah goes thru about 250 cars a week when price of steel is up. But nothing like walking thru a junkyard! Its a favorite thing to do for me!
