What's your Daily Driver?

Postby 85TDW50 » Wed Sep 01, 2010 10:17 am

Just curious how many use their D50 for a DD.

For years i drove my old 2.6L D50 4x4 as a Daily Driver and beat the snot out of it on a daily basis. Replaced the old D50 with a '92 4x4 Dakota (5.2L Mag), Still have my '84 Turbo Diesel though, and i'm currently looking at a 2WD 1st Gen to do a Small Block (340 / 4-Speed) Conversion on

Currently i use the Dakota and my '74 Plymouth Duster as Daily Drivers. The Duster gets parked in the garage this winter for a fresh paint job...and a supercharger

And I wanted that Toyota Ethan!

Here's what I'm mainly rolling around these days.

Occasionally I'll resort to the old daily driver. It's so cool everytime I park it, some Iraqii has to use it for shade!

My DD is a 2002 Lincoln Blackwood with 68,500 miles on it. Power everything and heated and cooled front seats - but the gas miliage is only 10 - 12 mpg in the city. Highway is 18 -20 though, and it is a real tow beast.

My Duster has 103,760 Miles, about 900 miles on the nasty 340 (replaced the original 318, yes it was a numbers matching car)

My '84 Diesel has 197,971 Miles, about 2 miles on a fresh 4D56

My Dakota has 208,000 miles.

The Duster actually gets slightly better mileage than the Dakota.. And that's with Excessive Use of the Skinny Pedal and a Manual Shift Kit on the Duster, and Reasonable Driving with the Dakota. Go figure
