Truck is totalled

Postby villacorta32 » Mon Jan 17, 2011 3:51 am

So as the heading reads, my truck is totaled. I dont know what i am going to do at this point, i would really like to get another one, but I need something asap for school and work. I was hit by a drunk driver on the driver side, I will post pics so you guys can see the damage when i get a chance. Depending on how much money I get, I may or may not get another. If I don't I will part it out. It is a 92 auto with the 2.4, 117k. It really breaks my heart to see it go because my dad bought it when I was 13 to give to me when I turned 16 and we have always taken good care of it, always used synthetic oil, the whole 9. So in short, my mightymax is no more :(

Wow. Hope the guy got some good insurance. I would buy another truck and salvage what reuseable. Depending on what is reusable, would depend on how complete a truck you would need. That's what I would do anyway. If I survived a pretty bad collision, I'd look for another of the same car because I would know how safe they are. Let us know what happens man.

All you need is some rubbing compound and a buffer to get the paintoff  Really glad you weren't hurt when he hit you. Definately try and find a similar truck to swap over as much as you can. The DUI driver should lose his license for 5 years; 1 year isn't good enough for boneheads like that.

I recommend Mother's rubbing compound.

Yeah hopefully i can find another 2.4l, but they are next to impossible to find around here, that way i could swap my bucket seats, my intake and all the other stuff i put into it. that way i could keep my motor for back up, maybe even do the head swap. I'm going to see a lawyer tomorrow and i have physical therapy starting this week too. For the moment I think I'm going to buy 91 eagle talon that this girl I worked with is selling, only has 100k and she takes super good care of it. Just to get my by for now so i can get to work and school. I'll keep you guys updated, thanks for your concern.
