I got the same emblems too and never installed them on my starquest. In fact, I ended up taking off all the decals and emblems years ago. I believe the "Hemi 2.6" was found on the Chrysler Aries k-car at least that's what I was told when I got them.

That is what they were on originally- no one noticed them but us truck guys

personally, i like the chrysler 2.2, 2.5 and mitsubishi 2.4 (as they all have excellent fuel economy, torque and most have roller valve trains). but it is interesting to know i can find an alternative bolt in upgrade for my 87 ram 50's anemic 2.0 in some early 80's k cars. never had much interest in the "hemi" cars until i was given my grandpa's little pickup a couple years ago. the word hemi doesn't get me excited as it is just an advertising gig but would still be an interesting custom addition to one of our pickups!

You and Jim Wagoner from GM - Hemis are an ad gimmick!?! They were such a good engine that Ford and GM whined to NASCAR and NHRA to ban them cause they couldn't win against them in the late 60's and early 70's. Every manufacturer has built hemi head motors - most never tuned then to the extent that Chrysler did. Even motorcycles run a version of it on untimate performance models.

i'm not saying it is a bad arrangement, but it is not a definitive way to build a performance engine. don't get me wrong, Mopar put out some great engines and yes they did dominate the track but there was more to the recipe than just hemi cyl heads. there were 4 cylinder manufacturers back in the 80's that put even the mighty 2.6 to shame, and with less displacement.....the name Lotus comes to mind......

but anyway.....every engine has its pros and cons.......

If they stayed in one piece and the electrical system stayed working!?! Lotus had great ideas, but poor reliability, like any british car other than Rolls.

yup.. all dirtbikes are hemis or at least semi-hemis... most street bikes are too
even my pitbike is a hemi head...


the dome shape isn't near as important as it flows... chrysler has head design locked down.
them calling their motors hemi is kind of advertising BS, because most motors are hemi/semi-hemi
