Hi I'm new on here. The names Mitch and I'm from england.
I've got a 1st generation Ram 50, which is quite a rare thing over here.....In fact it's the only one in england!
Mine's got a bit of an unusual history to it. It was shipped over from new and used on an American Air Force base over here. It never left the base so it never got registered! Until in 1987 when my friend found it there. It had been in a wreck and was looking very sorry for itself.
So my friend dragged it back home and started playing with it.
First thing to go was the engine, which was replaced with a V6 engine from a ford Capri. The car was an ex track car and the output was said to be approx 230hp judging by the way it goes even now I'd say thats about right.
Over the next couple of years the truck had major work done to it to make it handle better and look good.
I then bought it off my friend and used it for a while but when my first son came along it had to go.
It went through a few owners and I tracked it down a few months ago on e bay looking a bad mess.
Its back home now and I've nearly got it as i want it.

Also, we dont drive on the wrong side but you always put the steering wheel on the wrong side!
I'll be fitting an alarm at the weekend so will put some more pictures on then. Other plans are a solid cover for the rear so i can buy some nitrous and hide it underneath. Still need to be able to use it every day for work though!

hahaha i hear wot your saying i think mines the only 1 on here wit the steering wheel on the right side, i wanted to make a hard lid but never got around to it and nitrous would be cool, look fwd to some pics of the lid and nitrous.

I'm going to make the bed cover myself. I make signs for a living so will be making it out of the lightweight sign panels we use. Hopefully this will keep the weight down (and the cost) as I'm hoping to make it motorised to go up and down but will probably give up on that part as its probably more complicated than I think its going to be!
Going to make a canvas cover too not so showy but more for daily use.
Really want nitrous but got to make it grip a bit more before I do.
was going to do central locking and alarm today but Its raining at the moment so we'll see what happens.
Also need to fit big speakers behind the seats as I cant hear the music over the engine at the moment!

i was thinking about going to the highway department and tryin to get an old sign from then so i could make me a bed cover out of it. as for motorized i doubt it but i might try some air actuators. traction will probably be a big issue with a v6 and nitrous. a few people know ive got plans for building a pretty wild 4.3 v6 for my extended cab ram-50 and i plan on adding a leaf to the rearend and building custom traction bars. if i ever get around to it ill probably give a step by step on the custom traction bars. the last set i build for a swb chevy i had did excellent and they were just built out of scrap steel. anyways love your truck man give us tons of pictures

Nice truck man! I take it you can't find parts in England for it. We still have a few here........
