Which engines will fit

Which engines will fit

Postby DavetheDude » Wed Jan 20, 2010 10:02 am

Need some help. I am looking for a 2.4l or 3.0l to put in my Power Ram 50. Do I need an engine that came out of a pu, or will the ones from a montero or eclipse work. Are they the same engines? When I search for engines there are a lot out there for a montero and eclipse but nothing out of pickups. If you could give me some direction I would appreciate it.

Anythings swappable.......

The 3.0s in the monteros use different ECU p/ns I know that. But I think there identical motors.

Unless its 2.4 8valve sohc I wouldnt swap it unless your looking for something cool and maybe fast.

Anything will work if you get the harness/ecu to go with the motor.

I just want an engine that will bolt up. Not interested in adapting anything. I will have the complete harness on anything I put in.

it depends on what size motor you have in the truck and what the transmission is weather it being auto or 5 speed

Anybody know if a 4M40-T engine w/tranny would fit in place of the 4d55 without too much modifying?
Just a long shot.
