I think as long as your not at the very end of the adjustment you are ok. If you were to go all the way in, or remove the stops like said above, all the stress would be on flexible things like inner and outer tie rods, this way you have a solid resting point when you go lock-to-lock. Listen to your PS pump when you are lock to lock. make sure it dosent whine or sound like it is laboring very hard. If not i say go you!
