I Need Help!!

Hey guys...and girls...I dont get on here often. I am typically on maxd50scene.com. I asked a few questions on there and they haven't been answered. I have an 87 d50. I just moved to North Carolina and I left my truck in Oregon. I might need to go pickup it up and drive CROSS COUNTRY. lol. That's going to suck. Anyway....I lowered it by cutting the springs and it is such a bad ride. Slammed and needs a massive alignment and eats tires up like crazy.

My questions:
1) Where can I find some lowering springs for my DODGE RAM 50?

2) Would I have to use aftermarket shocks in order to use lowering springs?

Thanks ahead of time for the help....

Summitracing.com sells lowering springs.

If you want the ride to be nice shocks are yes.

AIM industries also sells lowering springs I think, at least they used to. You could also go with drop spindles. Gauge magazine used to sell them on their site, AIM should also sell them. Lowering shocks will help out a TON with ride quality, but they are not required with either springs or spindles.

Dallas hot rods makes a set of upper and lower control arms for our trucks that give 1-2" of dorp and correct balljoint angles with screw it bjs. they are made for bags, but can be ordered for springs. He can also make them for more drop- these also eliminate the strut rod. There is some welding involved to accomidate the strut rod elim. Ask Johnboy about these- he installed the first set of these on his truck.

As for the drop shocks, they don't give you drop, they control the wheel movement by being valved for the range of motion that has changed by lowering.

Oh...ok..I see. Well I thought that drop shocks wouldn't give you drop but wanted to make sure. If I already cut the bump stops off would that have any effect on installing spindles? Would it still be a horrible ride or would the spindles surpass the bump stops.
