i just installed a 4d55 in a raider with 8500 on the body and 125000 on the engine that runs great with all new gaskets and seals not much rust but what do i tell the guy that says he might want to buy it?. i dont want to sell it before i even put it on the road but im kinda broke... what is just a 4d55 selling for these days? or are there any?

well to be honest,,, not much. its not an original diesel truck. with the correct harness and glow plug system.ect ect ect. but id say if you got 1500 that you should be happy. just my 2cents which is only worth 1 lol.

Probably not a lot. Since the market crashed and the recession hit a year or two ago the value of these little vehicles has taken a hard hit. They are only worth 30-40% what they used to be. My guess is you could probably get $1500 out of it, but the fact that it is a conversion is going to hurt it's value.

I'd say hold on to it. When fuel goes up again (which it will) close to $4 and $5 than the prices of these trucks will skyrocket again orignal or not. Being only 8500 miles on the body it should look like new outside?

I would hold onto it. Inside start parting out the 84 diesel truck you have without the motor. Let me know ill buy some stuff
