You got an aftermarket system? Could be related. Was told if run the power wire next to the rca wires it would pick up the noise. Don't know of any truth to it but that's what I was told.

if you have an amp they have a noise filter you can get at walmart that goes inline with the rca'a to the amp and cuts noise. I had to run one when I had subs in my mightymax
If you run an amp in your vehicle make sure to run the power wires and RCA cables on the opposite sides of the vehicle. If they are both ran on the same way to the amp this could be what is causing your engine interferance in your speakers.

Make sure your ignition wires aren't arcing; the amp will pick that up too. Also ground the amp case and radio to the battery will help also. They do make a filter that hooks up to the alternator to filter the output, but if the noise is that bad from the alternator, its got a problem.

1. Proper ground with 10 guage wire. 2. Run your power to your deck seperate from AMP power. 3. Run AMP Power directly off of the battery and tie that in to your ignition. 4. Run RCA's and Speaker Wire from deck in shielded conduit 5. Make sure you use high quality, sheilded wires, RCA's, plugs etc. (Monster Products are the best IMO for audio installs)
I've never used any filters or gadgets with any aftermarket installs. You don't need them if you install the system correctly.
