92 prelude

My Gf's brother is giving her his 92 prelude, 192K needs a rad and has developed an oil leak somewhere thats pretty bad. The garage he goes to said it needs a new engine; I highly doubt it. It also has new tires and exhaust - and the price is free - transfer title and its hers. watta y'all think; and yes its a 5 speed.

Nah its nothing like that - he can't fix it himself and this is a reason to get rid of it. Its his wife's car and she wants to keep it, but the cost of a motor is too much to spend to repair it. Mind you, the garage told him this, a Honda garage. Most likely its a front pulley seal.

Picked it up about 2 weeks ago - its an SI 2.3 h23a1 motor with a 5 speed non vTEC. This thing flies - great torque to 4 grand then it really takes off. So far, the rad leaks because someone twisted the filler neak so bad, that coolant leaks past the cap when at temp; got new one on the way. Oil leak is definately the valve cover gasket, and the usual cam seals. Its going in shortly for a timing belt/waterpump/seals job and it will be good as new engine wise. Got the usual rust holes around the rear wheels, but nothing else body wise. Not bad for a car with 197K and free. It also has a new exhaust and 2 new and 2 very good tires.
