Redrilling axle and gonna put on disc brakes. Sounds like your gonna use the stock axle. I demand more info.

yes i do it all the time with Toyota 4x4 rears.....I turn down the axle OD so a brake rotor fits over it.
The hardest part on them is machining the large center bore since on most 4x4 axles. The rear axle face also gets a machine job so the press in studs fit flush when you torque the lug nuts...the backing plate gets removed and a CNC cuts out billet caliper brackets..we build rears for local drag guys so i should have extra parts lying around.

I have never done a brake swap on a mighty max so i dont know what the axle face looks like. I think i can use newer montero disk brakes and bracketry then just drill to the more common 5x4.5 bolt pattern...

Ask TYE, his cab almost flew off the freeway from rusty mounts.

Where do you live Mike? I've never seen a Cab around here that doesnt need Rockers at the very least, even Mid 90's - Early 2000's Trucks need Rockers if they're used in the snow.

Depends on where you live, The Road Chemicals used in the winter really do a number on a vehicle.

I picked up my cab for $100 and at the time there were no D50's in local classifieds or even junkyards in the area for that matter. Floors, Rockers, ect were no problem because i had new Rockers and Floorpans

All in all i think i have less than $400 total in the body (including the price of the cab) since i already had most of the stuff i needed. I would have had everything i needed, but somebody stole a bunch of my 1st Gen parts

It was fun though, i enjoy doing body work, otherwise i would be bored out of my mind.

I live in California. All 3 of my 1st gens are rust free aside from maybe some fender damage

here in the NY tri-state area you are lucky if you find pre 90 cars on the road and ALL junkyards scrap anything older than 99..
Also NY has very stringent dmv inspection rules so most with older cars just scrap them..and in my area, most homes pay 10k-20k property tax so you can just imagine my type of neigbors and the risk of keeping to much visible junk in your backyard. (jerk off building inspectors)... ..so you may find d50s elsewere in near perfect shape but not in my area...

lets get back to my project...just got my yota front hubs from the blaster and will paint them later...
i hope this is a straight forward swap like the 2nd gen guys
