Postby DroppedMitsu » Tue Mar 09, 2010 3:25 pm

Been a while since I have been on here, had internet connection troubles. But here is where I'll post my build updates as well as the pics I have from my 4g63t swap. It is almost complete, I have driven it, but need to finish up the exhuast and few other things.

How was the swap so far? Headache? Total investment cost so far?

Not too many headaches as I had done A LOT of research before I actually started it, thank god for the all the build threads on mightyd50 and also Jeremy(4g63mighty max) from hotrodcoffeeshop.com. It was pretty straight forward. Only thing was trying to figure out why I had no spark or injector pulse once everything was connected again. Turns out the ECU that I pulled out of the eclipse along with everything else got broken when i accidently dropped it, so used ecu off ebay and it was all good.

I spent $450 for whole running eclipse with totaled front end(yea I know I scored a killer deal, thats why I couldn't pass it up) and pretty much made that back and a little more from parting it out and selling the rest to pick-n-pull.
I'd probably say $600 or so after that, probably a bit more, I don't know theres so much things I'm probably forgeting. Its all the little things that add up real quick.

Diggin the toyota bumper swap. Did you make the brackets yourself and do you have any pics? Did you move the motor mounts forward or massage the firewall?

Yea I made the bumper brackets myself, very easy and simple design using part of the stock 4runnner mounts. I will get pics some time and post them for you and anyone else. Yea I made motor mounts using the stock mounts to move the engine forward 1 7/8", had to lengthen driveshaft and tranny crossmember also, but made it much nicer.
