help with body lift

Postby mightycelica88 » Sun Sep 26, 2010 8:54 pm

does anyone have any good tips for a 2-3 inch body lift. Just putting some kind of rubber block washer on the bolts between the body and frame. And also was wondering if anyone knew about being able to swap upper control arms from a montero for added lift, i have heard something like that on here recently. i have a 1991 mighty max 2.4 and would love it even more if it was a little higher lol

dont know about the montey control arms but the body lift is pretty simple...just add some 3" blocks in the body mounts with longer bolts. youll have to take bolts out of the brackets on the fenders that hold the brake lines in place and maybe some other little things...i had a problem with my shifter hitting the floorboard when i did mine but that wasnt anything a hammer couldnt fix...it would probably be better though if you just cut it out instead of beating it in with a hammer

Ya my main reason for even wanting a lift is to keep the front tires from rubbing around sharp turns. I put some 235 tirs on it and they have great traction. I just need a lift, even one inch may be enough. I plan on posting pictures soon

the monty control arms will lift the truck 1-2" and help with alignment as well - a common swap on these trucks.

wait you can just swap out the upper control arm from a monty and it will give you a 1inch lift. i might do that to help level my truck out.
