How do i get enough lift to clear 33s?

Postby NCKidd16 » Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:53 pm

I have an 88 d50 with 30x3.50 bfg all terrains and an automatic transmission. I have a set of 33 mickey thompson baja mtz and i need to know where i can find a lift for it. The body lifts say that it won't work because i have an automatic. but idk. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i think you can just do some customizing on the shifter stuff for the automatic to make a body lift work...torsion bar crank and body lift is just about the only lifts these trucks have got

Never had an auto, but if there shifters set up like the monteros I think you just have to adjust some linkage, Lift it sort out the details later!!!!

Not guaranteeing the rubbing thing, gonna depend on your wheels I'm guessing.

I think you only have to adjust em with a couple of wrenches but cant remember.

Only 19 here, but Ive been playing with these trucks since I was 14

iv got 32's, had to crank torsions 3'BL and had to cut back bottoms of fenders, i still rub a bit because of the weight of my bumper, from what iv heard BL with an auto is a pain in the ass, but can be done. getting the linkage length and position is key, and i couldent see it being to hard after taking some measurments.i couldent see the linkage setup on these trucks being to complicated... are ya able to get a few pics of what it looks like ?
