Turbo

Postby shield88mm » Thu May 06, 2010 11:13 pm

I am a turbo noob, and I was checking out this site http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1489 and saw this T3 SUPER 45 TURBOCHARGER.

Is this feasible for an 88 MM 2.0? If so what else will I need aside from a turbo manifold? How much more power will this produce?

Ssautochrome and turboxs were famous on eBay when I first got into turbos. Never did trust the turbos or manifolds in there. The downpipes dong get as hot as the manifolds or the turbos so I assume they are okay. The manifolds were known to crack on the hondas. I'm using an eBay fmic on my truck cause the evo 8 fmic I had had a hole in it, and used a turboxs wastegate on my 4 door civic. That's as much as I trusted em. To each his own though. IMO.

No. The 4G63T can be bolted to the motor mounts using the mounts from a 4G64. BUT the waterpipe inlet of the 4G63T will hit the firewall and the Tranny will not bolt up. The 44G63T is a Narrowblock (12 1/2 inches between lower mounting bolts) VS the 4G64 Wis a Wideblock (13 1/4 inches) There are some very rare Narrowblock 4G64's which came in Vans of a particular vintage.

you can do a head swap to a 2.0 DOHC. That gives you access to cams and valve train, Intakes, some turbo options. You need bigger injectors to feed fuel to it, you'll also need some sort of tuning options, a Eprom ECU and DSMLink to tune the EFI, or a total aftermarket AEM EMS. An Intercooler should be considered. There will be some custom fabrication along the way. Once your making power then you'll have to look into a better clutch.

Keep in mind there is a major trade off between life span and performance. More preformance = shorter life. more stock = longer life. Youll need to find the price ballance you can afford.

Hay LSR Mike how much you got tied up in that little pile of parts we see in the picture.. Us fans want to know..

About $10,000 when you get into all the supporting mods and equipment.
