Turbo

Turbo

Postby shield88mm » Wed Jan 20, 2010 8:41 am

I am looking to add a turbo to my stock 88 MM 2.0

Are there any donor vehicles that could provide a bolt on solution?

Has anyone done this?

there is not 2.0 bolt on turbo except the conquest/starion 2.0 SOHC motors but that was only available in OZ or new zeland.
Now one possible swap may be from a Mitsubishi cordia 1.8.. Its a smaller displacement and its in a FWD configuration but it should be bolt on. depending on where you are i know of one cordia turbo in PA that has the entire engine.

I thought there was some semi-serious changes that had to be made to fit the 4G63T

I know a guy who made his own manifold to boost his 2.4. It worked well for a while but eventually it would not hold boost pressure. He had finally narrowed it down to the shaft seal for the throttle plate. It was pushing 8-10 pounds I think. He tried changing out the throttle body nuerous times but no fix.
