rear axle q's again

I found a 3.55 3rd member out of an 87 mitsu pu will this fit in my 3.90 housing or is 3.73 the cut-off in these??

-80 Arrow Truck(daily driver)
-64 Scout SOA conversion w/ chevy v8 and th350 swap(4x4 hunting rig)
-77 f100 w/ 400m(ass haulin pickup)
-67 Plymouth Belvedere orig. 318(8 yr project car and going)
-86 Mustang GT(weekend cruiser)

i've done this stuff before, not my virgin voyage on diffs, but thanks for the info mike much appreciated

yup...what he said...its pretty easy to do just like the ford 9"
