All third members out of a 4x4 (with orange sticker) ARE LSD. Best way to know for sure is to take 10 minutes pull it down... and see if it's open or closed... see pics below. Closed of course = LSD!

Also your saying the monteros have a 8" rear end, you didn't specify which years. I am looking at a 91 V6 automatic, it may or may not have the LSD rear but will the third member work?

No look for 4cyl not 6 the 6s have a 9in rear

The Montero LSD from 83-89 4Cyl will fit the 4cyl MM/D50 trucks rear.
The Montero LSD from 89-91 6Cyl will fit the 6cyl MM/D50 trucks rear.

Wow, I got to lay off the beer. Sorry guys thanks for the info. I think I tracked this all down. I also got in contact with my previous fabricator who made my old spool setup, I wonder if he will make some more.

Isn't that a bit high for just the carrier? I bought a whole 9" axle out of a 95 montero with all the links and the driveshaft for 200.
