Can I put a stock 7' bed on a truck that came with the 6' bed? or is the wheelbase different?

longer wheelbase. I've got a longbed, wheelbase is 116" compared to the standard bed's 105"

You could take the long bed and shorten it - see trucks on powerblocktv.com for the one they did on a 60s chevy full-size. If you shorten only the front it would be unique!

that would look sharp, it would have that longbed rake at the rear.

i have been brainstorming taking two bed and making my own long bed without messing with the wheel base. just making the section behind the wheels longer than normal

i like the short bed, but i was thinking about making a trailer out of a long bed to match my truck for when i need to haul something long or need more cargo capacity. thinking you could reverse wire the trailer so that the brake and directional lights are separate as the factory intended and have an extra wire for the backup lights! we all know how much "fun" it is backing up a trailer at night!
