for an 88 carbed truck there is a white wire in the wiring harness
with the coil wires ,, it needs to be hooked up to the negetive side of the coil
mine was cut off at the tape but it was in the wiring loom
i just added on a little wire and a ring terminal
wish i had a pix for you ,, but that truck of mine is in a different state
