I guess first I will actually try real LED's and not just colored bulbs and see if that does it. If that dont do it I'm guessin I'm gonna have to remove the film.

Doesnt the really bright cluster lighting bug you at night? I like my dash so dim I can just read it at night (helps the night blindness)

Do you have a controller to dim the LED's, cuz I know they don't "dim" like an incandescent

I would still like a site or web address to view these.. I was just messing with my cluster this morning and noticed that there IS a difference between some of the tach clusters.
The one that i have in my truck didn't have the clip/plug to run the tach and the other on that I have does!.?
SO I tried to pull both the PC-film off the backing to copy them but they wouldn't fit our fax/copier.
I wonder if there was a split in years for different options..

Anywho. I might start another thread on this.

Hellow...?

Does anyone know if the led's dim with the dimmer knob? OR are the led's just 'seeing' voltage in either ON or OFF?

Hi. Sorry I can't answer your question but I have had luck replacing the small bulbs with other bulbs without replacing that cover thing on other cars like my Honda. Ima google for you in a minute for the led cluster but I'm sure it would dim also.

I just did a quick search and can't across this vintage mustang forum that asked the same thing. Someone on there said theirs won't dim unless they had a regulat filiment bulb in at least one socket. They also said that they hardly used the dimmer switch. So if you want the dimmer, replace all the lights to led except one and have that bulb blend in is to my understandings on their car.

I know this is an old thread, but i was wondering if you can replace the bulbs around the heater/fan selectors on the dash with LED's as well to match the cluster LED's? That would be awesome if you could.

I have blue leds in all the spots that actually light the gauges and they dim for me with the switch.
Also about the hvac controls yes u can change the bulb it is diff bulb then the gauge cluster bulbs and also there is a green film that you will have to do something about on the back the the hvac face to make it light up the color u want.
