Does the Tach Sensor in the VE41 Injector Pump send a signal that a run of the mill (aftermarket) Diesel Tach will read? I was thinking of pulling the Guts out of my Factory Gas Tach (from the cluster in my '84 that's now installed in my '85) and replacing them with the guts from a Aftermarket Diesel Tach.

I originally pulled the Tach out to install a sheetmetal plate to hold the Boost & Pyro Gauges & the Indicator Lights. But i'm going to relocate those elsewhere so i have a factory looking tach in the dash.

Tried a Sunpro (Gas) Universal Tach, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. Dunno if it was a signal difference or not

I have a factory tach for sale, if you are interested.

A Diesel Tach? How much? (it'd be a while, my money is spent on a body for my ramcharger) The main reason i was asking about regular Diesel Tachs working, is that my neighbor (bout a half mile up the road) runs a Diesel Trucking/Equipment Garage and he usually has gauges laying around
