Hub removal

Postby Josh2g » Sat Oct 30, 2010 7:15 am

Ok this thing is a PITA someone help me out, how do I get the front hub off, what am I doing wrong? Are the 6 bolts in the hub suppose to come out? They turn forever but dont come out. The Haynes manual says you need a special socket to remove a "locknut" but I don't see it, is this true on 2wds?

To remove the hub you need to remove the big nut under the dust cap in the center of the hub. The six bolts hold the brake rotor to the hub. There are nuts behind the rotor thats why its spinning.

I finally got that bastard off today someone put an extra lock washer behind the bearing so there was 2 of them. If anyone else can't pull their hub off its because some asshole probably set you up for failure like they did me.
