My 89 Ram 50

Postby Ram50man » Sun Jan 16, 2011 9:38 am

Hey guys, I was just curious as to if any of you know a website where i can find some cool after market stuff for my Ram 50. It's a 89, base model, 2WD, 2.0L. I have been looking and looking, and all I can find are OEM Replacements. Im looking for EURO style lighting, and a body kit. As far as the lighting goes all i found were just Clear OEM lenses. I would appreciate any info you guys have, thanks.

Don't think you'll find any euro lighting, only cleared stock style lenses. Body kits aren't made for these trucks anymore either, stillen used to make them and u MIGHT be able to find somethin but don't hold ur breath. Anything else just ask

Yeah thats kinda what i was afraid of. I think i may end up having to find a body kit that fits a similar body style and modify it to mount up on mine.

Sorry for the double post... just a project update...
I replaced the stock colored turn signal and tail light lenses with the clear ones. I have a new chrome grille, and the clear corner lights on order. I also decided to go ahead and do a rebuild of the engine, i start buying parts on Tuesday and hope to have it completed by Sunday of this coming week

Nice looking truck you got there. I would pick up some smoke paint for the clear lights to blend then in a bit to the body color. But that's me. You got an idea of what you'll do when the lights yellow? Just a thought.

When the lights yellow? do you mean when the clear lenses start to muck up and discolor? if so i will, use lense restore and keep them as new as possible as long as possible, when it stops working, i will just replace them, they are very cheap, i picked up the tailights w/ shipping for like $45.

So, i started rebuilding the engine the other day, and found out yesterday from the machine shop, my head is cracked. I was amazed, cause i never had any problems with it, and it still ran great and had power! So now its just sitting in my garage, with the engine stripped down to the block.

Yeah aftermarket parts dont exist for these trucks when your looking to customize them. Thats why I'm using hard to find OEM parts to fix mine up. Taking it from a base model to a fully optioned model. Its an addiction I guess.

This is usually what I liked to do when I was into hondas. ^^^^ the optional armrest started it, then to the dash clock, then the fog lights, and etc.
