An old pic of my ranger and 200sx in the background, stripped for parts and awaiting the scrap heap, captured by the google car 8-)

Well this week while having the emissions tested the truck seriously overheated and blew the headgasket and cracked the manifold. :(

What are the chances the head is scrap? There are literally clouds of white smoke pouring out the exhaust.

Gotta decide if its worth fixing (its on its second engine) or if I should swap it out for something different. Do any of the montero engines bolt it like the evo/starion/eclipse engines? I can't find any decent 4g63 engines here, but there are loads of montero 3.0 v6 engines.

You could swap in one fo the 6g7X motors, but the only trannsmission youll find for it will be out of a Shogun, only tranny that was 2wd and came behind a 6g was in the shoguns/montero sports.

Now if your creative you always could make an adapter.

try going to picknpull.com
look around there. i found some but when i went to look at em the engine was half apart in one and the other had a crack in the block. or you can just call them and see if they can have someone from another store find one and pull that out and send it to you. ive asked for that before but the only reason why i didnt do it is because the shipping from california i couldnt afford at the time

Cheers, but the shipping to the UK would be pretty bad ;)

I've ordered the head gasket and have a go. Its the first time I've had a head off a car so it should be...er...interesting.
