Pneumatic hood supports??

Good evening, Has anyone ever messed around with making hood supports from other vehicles?

I just wouldn't want anything that has too much resistance and maybe bend the hood..

ive wondered about the same thing. i know on the old chevy trucks they was bad about foldin the hoods in half, but they had those big coiled up springs and when the new got wore off they became hard to open and close. ive thought about goin to tractor supply and lookin at some pneumatics and test a few out just to see whats up. if you get around to doin this before i do give some feedback so ill know what not to do lol

I think I remember someone on the quest sites that made and was selling them but at least our hoods aren't as heavy.

Shall do.
