like jim said is right. The pins on the printed circuit board on that back of the cluster should also be labeled. On my isuzu it had a wire going to the ecu as a tach signal i guess but the stock cluster had no tach. So when i swapped clusters i found what pin in the plug was for the tach and ran it to the negative side of the coil. Also feel like i should mention that if you have an aftermarket ignition system (msd or similar) most of the time you cant run it directly off of the coil, you have to run it through the ignition box
