Take a look under site news and support. There is a hole how to in there, along with the FAQ area.

Rattlecan instructions for piano black (wheel material don't matter much):

Clean rims thoroughly.

Scuff with scotch bright or medium-heavy grit sand paper.

Clean/dry rims again, use tack cloth to remove any residue.

Mask the bead area and general tire area of wheel (possibly lug nut holes, as well).

Spray wheel with Self Etching Primer, let dry.

Spray gloss black in 2-3 coats. Let dry and cure for at least 7 days.

Wet sand, clean, dry, tack cloth. Spray 1-2 coats again.

Let cure at least 7 days.

Wet sand, clean, dry, tack cloth.

Spray 1-2 coats clear. Let cure at least 7 days.

Rinse/repeat with clear. Can do this another time for a deeper gloss.

Final wet sand after final curing with a VERY fine grit. Clean up well, tack cloth. Use a quality polishing compound or clay bar.

Finish with a well buffed coat or 3 of carnuba wax.

Considering this idea is for wheels, I would use high-temp engine paints. Black and clear.

Keep in mind this will be a high maintenance finish on wheels. They take a lot of road grit, brake dust, and heat.

These instructions were actually posted for use on computer cases, but beyond wear and tear, the process should be the same. Powder coating might be a better option all around.

It's all about the shine and that means curing time before you touch the paint again. Still not sold on how well this'd work for wheels, but it'd look GOOD for at least a while. Might have to be wet sanded and clearcoated again at least once a year. Really not sure.

As I said, this was a guide for painting computer cases. They usually don't roll down the road (ideally). lol

just like any other paint job and also depends on what kind of paint you use!!!
