Hello everyone I wanted to get some opinions I have developed a terrible squeak/ grinding sound I think I have it somewhere around the transmission tail and drive shaft. It's more noticeable at slower speeds when the clutch is engaged and I'm slowing down. Any ideas before I start tearing into everything? Thanks for any help!

u joints maybe... get under the truck and move the shaft side to side to see if there is any play.

It's the U joints. grease them.. Or there is a peace of rubber from the center support bearing on the drive line rubbing. They need to be replace every once in a while.

Don't forget to check the carrier bearing - its inside of the the support for the driveshaft. They will squeak if they need grease; you will have to separate the 2 halves of the driveshaft to grease the bearing.

I pulled the drive shaft today as I tried to shake or move the drive shaft I didn't get any play but figured it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and replace them. I also decided to check compression because I suspected an issue with #3 cylinder. This was my readings on a cold engine 1-4 - 140 170 25 140.. the engine has 213k and to be honest I expected much worse aside from #3. Also wanted to add that after running the truck I turn it off and can hear a bubbling sound... So thinkin its the head gasket but its not running hot temp stays constant in the middle of the gauge. Any advise on where to begin? Thanks oh and that carrier bearing....didn't see one....does the 93 come with one?

With 25 PSI in #3 it's time to pull the engine. She is due for the rebuild. Hopefully you can save the block. So you put on 11+ thousand miles a year for the last 19 years, not to shabby man...
