On a whim I went on ebay and called up downey toyota - what I found was the parts and info to recreate the rear disc brake swap for the toyota land cruisers. The various postings had the brackets, rear brake cables, and the info such as which calipers to use(monte carlo for no parking brake, eldorado rears for parking brakes) spacer sizes for the different calipers, and the use of 88 to 91 full size chevy 1/2 ton front rotors with the center hole bored to 4.250. These parts should work on our rear ends as well, although the mounting holes may need redrilled to fit the axle mounts. It also recommends using a 2 lb residual valve to keep the brake pads against the rotors for no brake lag. Go on and check it out for yourself.

Sorry to bump such an old thread but do you have a list of what's required? I don't get the jump from Toyota to GM parts. Where do I got to check it out for myself?

I got to find it again - it has been awhile. There is also an article on minitruckinweb that Ernie Macais did on one of his mitsus that used this kit - that is where I got the idea.
