Well I bought this 95' Saturday, now today mega rain from Sir Issac....noticed a drip puddle in the drivers floor board and by noon...well lets just say it's now a puddle. I pulled the wipers and cowl cover off at lunch to take a look, well it seems you can't see much into the corners, so I climbed underneath the dash to see a small rust hole in the corner of that tray, where the seam seal is. Is there some kind of drain hole (besides my new rust hole) on either side of this tray that could be plugged up....DAMN I hate leaks

The cowl drains are on both sides behind the fenders

Now is a good time to pull the fenders off and inspect for rust in the lower fender area.

I take it the drain part is the open hole to the right of the antenna? I wish you could into that cowl better, I would weld in a patch....

Yeah thats the drain. You could pull the dash and weld in some patches from underneath.....or maybe cleverly cover up the cowl on the outside. I know it rains everyday in "the sunshine state" lol
At the shop we have this special camera for looking into hard to reach areas. It looks like one of those l.e.d. flaslights on a flexible stick attatched to a monitor. Pricey stuff but i think harbor freight sells a cheaper one. We use it a lot for broken timing belts on interferance engines that we're concerned for bent valves. We'll pull the spark plugs and look down at the pistons for any valve contact marks.

Well made some progress today, I had to take the carpet out, so I cleaned underneath hung it out to dry and took out the glove box, heater motor and ecm to take a look up above. This side looks worse than the drivers...just take a look next to the hood hinge, I stuck the camera in the hole, well it's actually just the upper seam there, the hinge looks good. I'll cut the seam out of the lower cowl and weld in a patch...I'll remove that fender and take a look inside also. I do need an antenna, so now's the time, does anyone have one...hint,hint

Typical. There is no where for water and dirt to leave. If they would have made larger drain holes at the factory we wouldn't have this problem now.
