Thought I read it somewhere that shocks from a Chevy S-10 fit both front and rear?

Found a good deal on a set and am just curious.

bar on bottom with two bolt holes and stud on top? If so then yes they should work, possible that they could be too long but I don't know.

If they are 1st gen s-10 yes, 2nd gen maybe. if the second gen fits the first gen s-10s then they will work also.

This thread was very helpful for me. I used to own a 2000 S-10 and have a set of Koni shocks still in my garage that never came out of the box. I just researched the part number and it's the same part for 83-03 S-10. So to answer your question all S-10 shocks should fit. I will be test fitting my Koni's soon as I get the chance.

I did some research on the KYB site and comparing the "Gas-a-Just" S-10 front shock to the MMax/D50 front shock, the S-10 shock is a little shorter.

It doesn't matter that the lower mount is different?

E3(56x82x15) vs. E3(56.6x77x0)

if the bar at the bottom is too short or too long, switch them so they fit.

It was the 15 degree thing I foresaw as a possible problem. When you say switch them.. They just come apart?
I'm sorry for my ignorance, I just never dealt with anything other than McPherson struts.

they can pull out of the bushing. They can also be rotated to match the angle you need to line them up.

Ok. I was Ready to pull the trigger on some new Gas adjusts shocks when I noticed KYB is now offering a better one. It may have been around for a while but I'm just noticing it now. It's even lower than the regular s-10 shock. I'm planning on running a stock spring with one coil cut out. Which shock should I choose? Here are the specs:

Bought the same bilstein front struts. Had to take a die grinder to the lower arms to allow the struts to slide up into place. Also needed to use a jack to compress the spring to let me put the nut on.

Well if anyone is going to go with S10 shocks I have one(1) brand new Belltech Street Performance shock that I'd let go for WAY under msrp, then you could pick up the second one on ebay for pretty cheap and get a great deal. Just putting it out there....

Was looking for rear shocks for my truck. The rear s10 shocks from what I see are different. S10 rear shocks use the bar upper mount and a through bolt for the lower. My truck has through bolts top and bottom. Unless I'm looking at something different rear don't fit. Only front.

Yeah I believe this thread is mainly about the fronts

I believe everyone did. But the first post asks about front and rear. Looking at all the responses no one mentioned the rear. I only noticed when looking for rear shocks myself then google referred to this thread. Lol.
