Brake noise in right rear

Sometimes when i hit the brakes,a noise which sounds like the brake is adjusting it self will happen,and my ABS light will come on. The rear brakes are new,including wheel cylinders.:confused:

Are we talking about the 92 MM or some other car. I didn't know MM came with ABS.

Yep my 92,and it has a light on the instrument cluster that says ABS,in the upper right corner

The rear is a drum brake correct?
Does the pedal seem to be low, in relation to what it was before?
If so the rear need to be adjusted up. You would need to pull the drum and use a safe set tool to adjust it. This will get it close to where the adjuster can keep up. Pep Boys will loan them for free.

I have adjusted them,and it still makes the noise like the are adjusting themselves,it makes no sense to me:bang:

who did the brakes - check to see if the adjustors are installed correctly. If they are on wrong they could start adjusting the brakes when you are going forward when stopping.

Does it make the click noise ( or is it some other noise) when pushing the pedal or letting off?
Or is it only when moving? If or when you pull the drum can you get us a picture of it. Remember, the longer shoe is on the rear, short on the front. If there backward they will lock up when cold. Or at least thats what my truck did. OOpsy

It may be awhile before i can get pics,im in southwest va in the mountains and the weather isnt the best. myself and a friend redone the brakes one side at a time,and it does not click all of the time,just on occasions,and the clicking is when i hit the brake pedal no matter what direction of travel:bang:

Have you replaced the slave cylinder. It sounds like it's sticking in it's bore then releasing.

Is'nt the slave cylinder on the clutch ? I have replaced both wheel cylinders[new]

OK,, wheel cylinder / slave cylinder,, same thing, you know what I meant anyways.
How loud of a click is it? you should not here an adjuster moving. It's only a wheel with some teeth on it. But clicks what ever it is.

You say it does it when pushing on the pedal.
That could be somthing to do with the parking brake lever and the cross bar. Lets say you push the pedal. The piston starts to move 1 shoes, because the other is held away from one side of the piston just a little bit because the show is catching on the edge of the parking brake cross bar. Then when things move "Just enough" the spring tensions snap the other shoe off the cross rod and onto the piston face. CLICK, that forces both springs to have equal tension from each spring realignment them back to center. All this happens with in 3/16 of an inch movement inside the drum..... . Thats one idea,,,,,

Whatever it is ,when I hit the brakes its not just 1 or 2 clicks,its several clicks,until the ANTI-LOCK light comes on. I will try to remove the wheel and inspect things and upload pics when it gets warmer,and the rain stops

Ok cool.
Thats strange. More then one click. It could be the equalizing valve next to the fuel tank. There should be a wire on it. That's what makes the light come on. It might be having an issue. There might even be a reset button on it like the old American made cars had. IDK
