First Gen Clear Tail lights

Looking into getting some clear First gen tail lights made. Friend works for a polymer and plastic's company in the R&D lab.We were talking the other night at coffee and he might be able to make molds of my tail lights and pore as few sets of clears. He's looking into what it world cost for materials. I will keep everybody posted as I know a few people would love a set.

those sound great! would we need red 1157's or whatever for the inside lights? I should be thinking LED LEDs, but I'm still in the incodescent period, lol.

yep Red 1156's for brake/park light. 1157 amber for turn and clear for Reverse. you can find those easy at any parts store now in LED's. He's still trying to trace down the resin's to make them but hasn't had time to make any molds.

1st gen tail lights are the ones that get wider as they go down, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yep first gen is the Right one. 79-86

If you don't want to mess around with LEDs and resistors, I've found clear bulbs painted with Testor's model paint works perfectly. Testor's #1605 and #28004.

For LED you need a load resistor, I got these last year. I wouldn't order them from here again, took forever to get them from China...

Put it right after the flasher relay, someplace fairly clear. These puppies get just a wee bit warm when in use.

I'm also thinking that a constant rate flasher would do the trick (the type for trailers).

A set of smoke lenses would be very very tempting...
