Hello
I am planning to install a vacuum guage on a 1987 dodge ram 50 (2.6L) with automatic transmission and CA emissions. I am wondering where to connect the vacuum guage input. I was thinking of connecting it to one of two places.
1. The easiest location would be a T connector to the distributor (vacuum advance?). From what I can tell, this is the vacuum switch which connects to the top of the disributor. One hose has a vacuum and the other one does not.
2. On the side of the engine, beneath the carb and a cluster of hoses is a 5 connector "Tree". In the engine diagrams in the maintenance book it refers to this tree as a vacuum and shows just three connectors. In my engine it has 5 connectors. I think all of the hoses connected here will be of equal pressure.
Any advice is appreciated.
John
