About those aftermarket montero torsion bars...

If the aftermarket montero torsion bars are a couple inches longer than D50/MM torsion bars, then how about cutting the crossmember and moving it 2 inches back on the frame? I don't have spare montero bars to play with, so not sure how many reasons this a bad idea. Comments?

What's the spline count on the stock torsion bars?

the stock torsion bar has 39 & 40 splines, 1278 mm long. It's a direct parts interchange for 1st and 2nd gen montero.
