Well as tradition, I figured I'd join up on the forum that corresponds to my daily driver. After my 05 Cavalier kicked the bucket (turbocharged, cams, lots of fast and fun), I picked up a well used 1988 Mighty Max to have a DD while I decided what to do with my Cavalier. Here's what I picked up a few months ago:

It had a set of 18" Titans, drop blocks out back and some incorrectly cut/ installed factory springs up front. Seats are out of a Volvo of some sort, but I'd like to swap back to a bench seat.

This past weekend, I decided to take a weekend off from working on my new Cavalier project car and give the MM a new look. A lot of sanding, muratic acid, and hydrogen peroxide later, I ended up with this:

It's hard to see, but the hood, tailgate, and top are 2-toned with roll-on bedliner and an offset "euro" stripe was left in rust. Also there's a Mitsubishi logo left in rust on the tailgate.

Now that is original!

Thanks, that's what I was shooting for. I've seen the rust look applied to a few cars/trucks, but never 2-toned with a rust stripe.

Starting the spread of cancer. IMO, not always a good idea. Then again, not my truck.

It's the daily beater with 240K+ miles, so I figured why not? I'll get my money's worth of fun and utility out of it before anything is affected by the exterior rust.

Should of pulled the motor and trany from the cavalier and dropped that in the truck and then pushed the cav out into a field. :P Sorry, got a soft spot for the truck when they have to suffer.

The Cavy's motor got rebuilt with forged internals and currently resides in my brother's 03 Sunfire (soon to be sprayed). The rest of the car's getting scrapped.

As far as the truck goes, I'm looking into a 1g Eclipse turbo top swap.

Here are two updated pics of "terk" (that's the name it's been given).

She's getting a full front end rebuild with:
ball joints, inner/ outer tie rod ends
poly strut rod, sway bar, end link, and lower CA bushings
2" drop spindles and Eibach drop springs (to free up some travel lost in over-cutting stock springs :/ )
pitman and idler arms
turned rotors w/ new pads

Even with half of these parts installed, it handles MUCH better. Once it's all on, I'll get a proper alignment (instead of my temporary DIY job) and maybe get my 15x7's installed soon.

You wont be able to run 15's on drop spindles. Only 17's and up. What size wheels are in the pictures?

The wheels in the pics are 18x8" Titans. What makes 15's unable to clear with drop spindles?

After some searching, I found my answer. I'll check my backspacing and such once the spindles are on to see if I'll clear the 15's.
