Does anyone know exactly how to remove the cross shafts from the upper control arm? Thanks

Large socket, one cap is right hand thread the other cap is left hand thread. just use either a 1/2" impact gun or a large breaker bar on the socket. If you can't get it loose going one way switch to the other direction.

you may only need to remove 1 cap to take out the cross shaft. Be sure to count the turns on each nut, as it is one of the front end alignment adjustments.

Which cap are you guys referring to? I removed the nut and washer from each end of the cross shaft, there is nothing left on it besides the bushings for the control arm.

Here is what the 2nd gen setup looks like. I removed the nut and washer from both end. I tried pressing it out and it moved a little, just don't know if that's the correct way to remove them.

Those are press out bushings. you need a 10 ton press to remove them. what Pennyman and I are talking about is

7203
these are what are listed for your truck. the first gen uses the same ones.

I have a press and I was pressing them out, just didnt want to mess anything up as it looked like it was flexing the arms a little. So I just press them straight out correct? Looks like I'll lube them up some and get to work pressing them.

Yea I had bought some of those aftermarket shafts for my old truck back in the day but never got around to using them, figured those were the type that you guys were talking about.
