1st Gen Questions ,,,

Ok, let me jump right in !

First of all, my truck has a Gold Grille in it. I have seen Very few of them.
Even back in the day, the majority seemed to be Black or Silver.
Is this something rare ? The Gold Grille ???

Next, the trim around the gauge cluster.
Again, most of the ones I've seen have been the flat silver.
Mine, is in bad shape and flaking off, but it is Woodgrain !
Again, what's the story here ???

those gold grilles were on the 1980 spring special and 1981 D-50 and Arrow sport pickups. The wood grain insert on the bezel most likely was a owner installed item - thought of doing it myself. Most of the bezels are silver, but the 79 - 81 sports had a gold insert on a black bezel. The black grille was an 1982 sport grille or an owner repaint

Hhhmmm ,,, well all the peperwork on mine says it's a `79, but it certainly has a Gold Grille in it.

Yeah, I can buy that it was an owner done thing. And he did it around the Dash and the Gauges in the console.
Have never seen a Gold insert and any before. And yes it seems most of the `79's had a Silver Grille.
