about to do the oil in my 4d55 engine. what would be the BEST choice to put and is lucas oil stabilizer a good thing to put in with it :) thanks. It leaks a SMALL amount of oil so im thinking something thicker with a lucas additive to thicken it a bit until i can pull the engine and re-seal it with new rings/bearings/belts & a 4d56 head.

15w-40 conventional oil - synthetic will run right through seals that are already leaking.

It's whatever you like. I would read about the oil weight. I hear 30 wt is favored for general use, though I use other wt and Castrol.

found the 4d55 oil capacity.
6.5 Liters including the oil filter and oil cooler. (.6 in filter, .4 in oil cooler)
So 6.1 Liters is needed to make an oil change if you are changing filter but not draining oil cooler! :)
