Thought I'd start a build thread since I'm going to be swapping in my 4g63t in a few weeks and I've already started pulling things apart. I'm going to be running a stock 6 bolt 4g63t from a '91 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I already had this engine in my previous truck so most of the major fab work has already been completed.

List of parts needed and/or mods to complete swap that I used to complete swap:
*4g63t and all manifolds/sensors/etc.. from 90-92(preferably) Eclipse/Talon/Laser
*Engine wiring harness, ECU, and MPI Relay from same vehicle
*Shorten/Lengthen engine harness wires as necessary to reach their new position and power/ground the ecu/mpi relay
*KM132 4 or 5 speed manual transmission from late 80's 2.0l Mighty Max/Ram50 with g63b engine
*Motor mounts from 2.0 truck, but fab'd to move engine 1 7/8" forward so CAS and thermostat housing will clear firewall.
*Lengthened driveshaft to go with motor mounts
*Make throttle body flange and weld to front side of intake manifold
*Waterpump from 87-89 g63b 2.0l modified to clear timing components
*Waterpipe from 87-89 g63b modified to accept turbo and throttle body coolant lines
*1.8L eclipse thermostat housing top(aims directly to side instead of angle towards firewall like 2.0dohc top)
*Custom intake and intercooler piping.
There is a few more I will add as I remember them.

You need to grind down the ribs on the truck water pump so that the timing belt pulley will clear it

Will update this this week as parts come in

To veiwers, there are other ways to clear the cas and waterneck but it's proven that moving the engine forward makes for a way more cleaner look.

Thermostat housing, are you using the 1.8 straight housing or the 2.0 angled one? I know there are others without the radiator cap as well. I forgot if you mentioned this before.

Yea there are a few ways to do the swap, as I stated this is just how I chose to it, for the most OEM appearance and cleanliness IMO.

I'm using the straight thermostat housing cover from the 1.8 eclipse

Ok, here's how I modified the stock truck waterpipe that comes off of the water pump. I had to do this due to the turbo and oil filter housing having coolant lines running to them and me running the truck water pump and waterpipe which do not have these fittings.

You can see the second big fitting I welded on(came from stock 2.0l DOHC waterpipe). This goes to the turbo. The aluminum tubing behind the turbo is the outlet(or maybe inlet, can't remember which is which) for the coolant that I made.

This pic shows the aluminum tubing(3/8") I made to run coolant to the throttle body like it does stock. I figured this was the best way to get coolant there since the throttle body has been moved to front of engine for RWD purposes.

Hope to put motor in engine bay this weekend and find out all what else I need, should only be some intercooler couplers and few random things

Well I've been getting everything mounted and connected, etc... All I have to do is get my alternator wiring done and finish the exhaust from the end of the cat to the back and it should be done. Hope to start it by the end of tomorrow and possible drive it too since my driveshaft is supposed to be done also

Got the intercooler in its place so I can retain my A/C. Its size is 27x5.5x2.75. It fits right under the a/c lines and the piping goes right around them. Sticks right through the middle of the bumper so should see plenty of fresh cold air.
http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/attachment.php?attachmentid=640&d=1308607715

I will get more finished pics of everything when I put it back together for the final(for now) time.

DroppedMitsu
06-23-2011, 08:17 PM
Its running and almost driving, should be driving it tomorrow. I still need to reattach my exhaust under the bed and install my driveshaft. I also need to figure out what is causing me to still have a small idle surge, other then that its good to go. Still needs some cleaning up and permanent mounting of some stuff but she's basically done for now.

Got a new all aluminum radiator for the truck, the old one was falling apart and I think leaking a little too. This one was $135 shipped, got it from sheperdautoparts.com , they are also on ebay for a little more depending on which truck you have. It is of pretty good quality and definitely cant complain for the price, everything fit like the OEM one also.

So was there chrome under yours????????
The world is holding there breath.

I should sell space in my PO box to people. $25.00 per year sounds good to me. Just keep in mind that I have found that the DMV or post office screws the pooch on the address all the time. The address reads like this. 126 main st #12-147. They seem to miss the 12-147 and send the mail back to the DMV or the DMV forgets to put on the 12-147. I just keep an eye on the tag and send them the money or you can walk in and get a tag. I just don't care. If they have the money the cops show it on there system. When they ask or if they wright a ticket then I'll fix it. Screw the Government......

I just noticed in your pictures of the turbo, that the discharge line makes a 90. It looks like it's starting to kink. You might want to think about replacing the hose with a hard line from the turbo to the the pan. Then just use a 2" peace of hose to connect the two. If the line does not drain fast enough it can cook the oil in the turbo. Just a suggestion.

Is that a stock wheel?

DroppedMitsu
06-22-2012, 11:41 AM
Thanks Ethan, smoothing it all took a lot of work.

The red oil drain hose for the turbo drops straight down and then bends gradually, i think the pic makes it look a little worse then it actually is. I check it all the time and there is no kink yet, thanks for the suggestion though. I do plan on replacing it and a lot of the other lines with stainless braided hose and an fittings, just dont have the money right now.

The steering wheel is from a 1st gen DSM(eclipse, talon, laser). Bolts right on all you have to do is enlarge the opening for tue wheel in the steering column covers.

Swapped out my gas tank for a 91 f.i. Mighty Max tank. I did this for two reasons; one to get rid of the loud, annoying external fuel pump mounted under my cab, and two to move the tank behind the axle for when I'm ready to 4-link it and also get a little more weight on the rear end. Not only that but my truck is idleing smoother and it seems to be running a lil bit better, probably because it was running a bit rich from the 255lph fuel pump.

Hey droppedmitsu I was reading that using a starion "transmission tail" on our 5 speed 2.0 tranny that it puts our shifter in the stock location after moving the engine and tranny forward is that true?and if so what year transmission tail do I get?

DroppedMitsu
04-18-2013, 05:25 PM
If you move the engine up 3" and use the starion housing it is "supposed" to be about stock location, but I couldn't tell you for sure as I didn't go that route. My motor is only moved up 1 7/8" and I used the truck tail section .

Do you know where I can get a service/repair manual for a 4g63t engine?

Ebay, Look for an FSM (Factory Service Manual) for any of the DSM varients (Eclipse, Laser, Talon). These will also give you the wiring diagrams you will need if your planning on swaping...

Ram50808
04-24-2013, 09:43 AM
Is the chilton or Hayes manual the same as the factory?

Natedog
04-24-2013, 09:52 AM
No, but some people like those for the price difference. I preffer the Mitsubishi/Dodge/Chrysler Manuals myself. The others do have alot of good information, but the others seem to go more into depth. You could rebuild your engine using a Chiltons or a Haynes, and there is a ton of good information there. I just preffer the FSM's. Maybe someone else cares to chime in...

Ram50808
04-24-2013, 09:57 AM
Ill probly just spend the money for a factory manual

DroppedMitsu
04-24-2013, 05:34 PM
The FSM's are all over ebay for $10-20. There are two for a vehicle; body/mechanical and electrical. I definitely prefer the fsm over haynes and chilton as I have them all. The factory sm is way more detailed and has more info. For the 4g63t as stated you can buy an eclipse, eagle talon, or Plymouth laser as they were all the same car. Make sure to get a fsm that is for the same year as the motor as they changed little stuff around quite often. 90, then 91-92.5, 93-9whatever etc.. You preferably want 90-92.5.

Ram50808
04-25-2013, 08:00 PM
Ok thanks. Now I'm 100% committed to doing this swap I'm currently saving up for it.I wanna know what would be the best way to do this financially and mechanically? Should I buy a used 4g63t that comes with everything wiring ecu ect.and rebuild it.(send it to a specialist)or buy a crate engine and search around for everything that it doesn't come with?i come from a small town in Hawaii and its almost impossible to find parts down here! So purchasing a used one after shipping comes out close to what a crate one costs. But the crate engine doesn't come with everything,so I'm stuck on this part I just wanna make sure I spend my money right for this.SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS!

Natedog
04-26-2013, 05:06 AM
I'd make a list of everything you think you need, and look online for pricing, then compare that with the cost of the crate engine is. You might could buy a JDM galant import engine with harness and such for your needs and be better off. Many times these are low mileage, and come with most of the wiring harness, ECU, etc. Sometimes they cut the harness so be leary of this in your search (you may be able to use the cut harness and wire into yours though).

It really depends on how you want to go about it, and how much money you have to spend. You may do better to just keep your eye out for a DSM and buy it on the cheap...

Ram50808
05-08-2013, 03:09 PM
I might have found a 4g63 eclipse motor still waiting for the guy to get back to me.he did say its a non turbo just waiting to find out what year. If it is a from a 90-92.5 eclipse is it worth buying and then buying a turbo kit or should I just look for a motor that's comes with turbo?

Natedog
05-09-2013, 10:51 AM
It can be done, the pistons and cams are different on the NA ones. As well as the block doesn't have oil squirters... I'd just wait and get what you need.

DroppedMitsu
05-11-2013, 10:32 AM

Ram50808
05-11-2013, 10:45 AM
Yah definetly makes more sense to get a turbo one! How can I identify a non turbo from one that has a stock turbo?

DroppedMitsu
05-12-2013, 08:14 AM
Driver side under intake will have hexagon sensor in block, that is a knock sensor which only turbo motors have. I'll try to think of some more ways to identify and let you know.

Ram50808
05-12-2013, 10:08 AM
Thanks man appreciate it

DroppedMitsu
05-12-2013, 12:35 PM
I guess the n/t blocks are tapped for the knock sensor but in a slightly different location.
Some other ways to tell:
Water pump pipe doesn't have outlet right behind wp for oil-water cooler
Lower therm housing doesn't have spot for oil-water cooler line
Back pass side of head blocked off where stock turbo oil line feed would go
No spot on pass side of oil pan for turbo oil drain(easiest way to tell I'm thinking)

4doorciv
05-13-2013, 01:33 PM
Oil pan would also have a return line from the turbo. Cheapest route is to find a running parts car with damage. Emphasis on running. Lol. Dealership quoted me $350~$400 for an engine harness few years ago. Cleaner you want the install to look, expect to spend more.

Here's what I've been working on lately, a big brake kit for our trucks. I'm going to be using 3000gt VR4 4 piston calipers and 12.5" rotors. I've almost got it finished, I have my test bracket made and it all lines up pretty good, just need to make my final version for both sides. I'm planning on making a setup for 6-lug too as my buddy plans to keep his truck 6 lug and wants a kit. Hit me up if you guys have any questions.

pennyman1
07-26-2013, 08:17 AM
Thats a good start, but you need to get a caliper that will use more of the rotor - that one is too narrow and may cause unwanted side loading of the caliper brackets due to the tendency to fling it off the rotor at high speeds. More pad surface area means better braking.

DroppedMitsu
07-27-2013, 11:34 AM
The rotor is using all the pad surface area, but I understand what you are saying and already thought about that. Also the rotor is only .5 in diameter bigger then the stock 3kgt rotor. There is another guy running a similar setup on a Toyota with no issues. If these calipers can stop a huge and heavy 3kgt then it should have no problem with the truck. If anything I'll go down to a little smaller rotor later on when I go with a custom Wildwood rotor and hat combo.

BradMph
07-27-2013, 12:25 PM
I like this mod, though I kind of see what Pennyman is explaining. I can see both views though, but the photo sure looks like you could use a larger caliper to utilize that enormous rotor disk space area you have.
The small issues I see are possible balancing of the rotors and the bearing dust covers and heat buildup. Those 2 extra holes drilled on rotor hubs must be a balance drilling right? Another question I am thinking...are those rotors vented rotors? From this angle I don't see the inner vents and that's why I asked. If the rotor are not vented centers... are you going to install air vented dust covers to help cool them off? I think the 6 lug would be a great idea since the trucks are 6. All in all I like the mod, especially with that massive rotor surface area.

DroppedMitsu
07-27-2013, 01:55 PM
The two holes are to secure the rotor to the hub. Yes the rotors are vented. If you Google pics of the stock 3kgt vr4 brake setup you will see it does not use the full rotor surface area just the same as my setup. I see where you guys are coming from and I thank you for the feedback but I have no doubts it will be fine and perform awesomely. I will be doing a 6 lug setup soon as my friend is really wanting to do it after seeing my setup.

No problem these rotors are crown Vic rotors. For the 6 lug it seems the 02ish Silverado 1500 rotors would be a good fit.

07-27-2013, 08:31 PM
I had a set of front rotors from my gf's 2006 silverado - since the rotors would fit over the lugs instead of behind it, it would space out the wheel and require longer studs and spacers or 14mm studs to make up for the difference in the stud sizes. the tabs on the hubs gotta go too, but it will make it easier to run silverado / escalade wheels.

Well, if the brake mod requires buying new rims I think I better not mention it in the house right now. Especially after I just poured money into the fresh rebuild. I don't even have 5 miles on my new BFG T/As yet, lol. It's a good thing the wifey doesn't read my forum post. I think she would rather see me checking out neked bodies cause it's free...

Any pictures I can see? I am redoing my brakes next (after A/C rebuild), and want to go disk rear as soon as possible. Also upgrade front rotors, as My Nissan wheels (of my totaled 06 Frontier SE Sport) will supposedly bolt right up! Hmmm, I wonder if the Nissan Brakes and rear axle might swap in? 4 wheel disk!:) and strong, stock! Rated for 6000 tow rating, 12000 + GVWR. The Mitsu is 16-1750 lbs lighter! Gonna need more whoa, when the extra go is installed, (and using it to tow:), safely and stress free:)!

Pics of? All the front brake upgrade is is a 3/8 thick plate to bolt the caliper to the spindle as with any other big brake kit. Not much to see

Ok understood. I'm trying to cross the Nissan brakes since they are mine already and fit the wheels on the Nissan also:)! Plus almost new tires, on those wheels...hope it works..they are both HD 6 lug, imported metric measured bolt spacing..crossing fingers! Yours ar best idea, chevy stuff is cheap and everywhere!

Been a while since I updated my thread. Still working on the brake upgrade, pass side is pretty much done, drivers side will require a bracket with a little different shape and I haven't even messed with it.

I have been working on bagging my truck and have the front about 75% done, waiting on a few parts for it and some powder coat and it will be finished up. I still need to buy all the parts for the back of my truck to bag it but I'll worry about that soon enough. Here's a pic with the front almost laying:http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d27/mxracer728/Screenshot_2013-12-30-18-25-43-1_zpsjw3esh51.png

Also working on a wire tuck and major harness clean up/redo. The engine harness will be ran inside behind the firewall and come out on the lower drivers side firewall and run to the engine/acc. You will be able to see it but hopefully not a whole lot of it, we shall see. The chassis harness on the drivers side will come out of the cab behind the fender/in front of door and run behind the fender along the inner fender well and then to all there respective places. Battery is being relocated to the back under the bed, on the side of the frame rail.
This was barely just the start of unlooming the engine harness, its a mess now lol

Cleaning my engine wiring harness up still, had tons of wires to trace to make sure I could remove them and lots of connections to fix. Also having to clean up some of my rushed/cheaply done wiring work. It is looking much cleaner now and I might have it pretty close to finished tomorrow or for sure Friday. After that I'll start on the chassis/power wiring that was on the drivers side fenderwell.

Here's where I left off yesterday:

you sir are one of my max/ram50 heroes. I've read this thread over at least 5 times and it still isn't getting old. I love knowledging myself on any project or hobby I get myself into and now owning one of these trucks I'm fully committed to learning everything I can about everything even if its not on my to-do list. I've had some ideas of my own simply though observation, I don't jump into researching my ideas right off however, I try to trouble shoot and brainstorm my ideas and determine rather its a viable upgrade then I jump on research. i.e. I found cross drilled and slotted rear discs for a half-ton Chevy, same 6x5.5 so that's easy enough, caliper brackets eh no big, but I'm wondering of a good donor booster, why have big brakes all around without some good power to them, what booster do you run? anyone else have brake mods? cause these stockers suck testicles!

DroppedMitsu
03-25-2014, 11:03 AM
Booster is not what you'll have to worry about, just a bigger bore m/c to move more fluid to the brakes according to another builder on here. Our trucks have a 15/16 bore, you can run a montero sport with 1" bore or 3000gt vr4 with 1 1/16" bore. I'm not that far yet but will most likely run the 1 1/16 as I am going to be running rear disc too later on. Merrill on the forums has a build thread going right now with a brake upgrade going on, think he is going to use 3000gt calipers also

BradMph
04-05-2014, 02:59 PM
Hope the bagging is going great. Seems your truck is in the build process so much your not getting the required enjoyment you deserve.:)
I guess you have to install some skid plates or post too with the bagging? I think I read something about titanium post used to prevent the frame from being damaged by some unforseen obstacle.
Well keep us up on the progress, you should be excited towards the completion...I sure would!

DroppedMitsu
04-05-2014, 04:00 PM
Thanks Brad Its going pretty well. Front just needs to be smoothed out and primed/painted/powder coated. And I just ordered the majority of metal and 4-link parts I need so I should be starting on the rear very soon. Hope to have it driving by the end of this month/beginning of next month but we'll see about that.
You don't really need any skid plates or anything unless your tank is real low and you might want to cover it. I think you mean drag blocks though, and people use those is they want to drag their trucks and make sparks and not damage their frames or anything.
You're right though I haven't got to enjoy it the last year but it will be everything I've wanted for my truck once it is finished and I can enjoy it.

Oh that is going to look so nice when it's done. Your handy work looks professional and clean. Them wheels are pretty sweet all by themselves. What kind driveway finish is that called...?
Le' Riverbed! You have been working on that truck in them rocks this entire time? oh man you must have sore feet, back, legs. Grab some old carpet from the back of a rug store and throw it over them rocks. That kind of surface would kick my ass if I had to do work on my truck like that.

Remember on your maiden voyage after the rebuild to drive somewhere where no one else is until; your comfy. I know at least 3 people that did an ultimate build and soon as they drove it on the street it was right in front of another vehicle or they forgot to stop at a sign. One of the guys had a classic vette completely redone from top to bottom. He started it and rolled out driveway in front of a truck and totalled it. His dad was watching and just shook his head when it happened, lol.
Your going to have a great time with your truck...keep us updated!

Thanks for the kind words brad. That's the side of my garage, all of the critical measuring work and welding was done inside of the garage on the pretty level ground. The finish welding, grinding, blasting and painting was done on the rocks, doesn't bother me too much and I do have padded mats and carpet to throw down when I need. I live out in the country so my truck always gets its test drives on empty roads.

Hi Josh...How are you going on the brake upgrade? I am in Oz and have been doing some research on this but striking blanks everywhare with rotors etc. I tried to resurrect the Big Rotor thread to see what people have come up with. I have been in contact with Rahtid and he has shown me some of the things that he has done...he is still trying to find some rotors...Fishpost19 is in Australia too but his is on the back burner at the moment due to other projects getting more of his attention and money...:) I am interested in 6 lug like your friend...I have a 2WD Macro cab (club Cab here) like yours and want to do a front disc upgrade...would love to know if it has progressed to being available soon...
A place here in Oz (hopper.com.au) have a 300 mm kit for L200/L300. I rang them and asked if they will fit the 2nd gen trucks like ours...they said only if the stub axel was the same on both the first gen and the second gen....do you know if it is? Theirs is a 5 lug kit using Ford Falcon (aussie made) calipers and I think a 5 lug Commodore disc and a conversion hub that is custom...That is all I know until I can confirm whether the stub axles are the same or not...

I have barely got my big brakes setup. I still need to do the driver's side. I do not plan to sell any kits or make a 6 lug any time soon. Merrill on this board might be of more help as he has a shop and more resources as well as also building a big brake kit

Not trying to thread jack, but I have a design for bolt-on big brakes using OEM mitsu parts. It would just take a lot of buyers for me to produce the parts.

You can check out my build thread as well for the set-up I built for my truck if you are looking for ideas. I used VR-4 calipers and rotors in a slightly different setup (all custom built).

Merrill

No, it would just be for machined hubs that bolt Montero Sport brakes to the MM. Sourcing the rotors, calipers and master cylinder would be up to the buyer. I'm sure we can sell full package deals, but the whole point is to sell the hub that bolts everything up.

I'd suggest we create a new thread with questions and such... I feel like we have gone off topic in this build thread.

Hey man.....Im trying to follow along and do the same to my truck.

Did u just grind off the spot welds on the crossmember to separate the lower part. Any reinforcement?

Are you building your own bars or buying premade? Getting parts from thorbros.com?

DroppedMitsu
02-02-2015, 08:17 PM
Haha no, no new girlfriend, otherwise i wouldnt have money for the toys.

The tranny cross member i cut out the center hump section and cut a new piece out of 1/8 and welded it in. Ill be bolting it up like bobbyk? Did for the time being until i make a new crossmember.

Im making my bars using end links from custom connection and thorbros.

Also got the crossmember welded in tonight:

Alright so unfortunately I'm not the owner of a mighty max, however I do all the work on my friends and he wants me to do this swap for his 88, I understand all the work that you did for the most part, my question is since you used the truck water pump did you use the pulley made for the 4g63t water pump because his stock water pump uses a v belt and I thought the turbo motors used serpentines

Looks great Josh, 175 amp is plenty. I'm going to say you're running co2 shielding gas with that hard wire. My little Lincoln prefers 75/25 the 25% argon runs hotter and cleaner (too hot for sheet metal). Thor brothers, great choice they make some awesome quality parts. The 4 link parts I bought from them their welds are freaking beautiful.

Are going to use a pan hard or watts linkage for tracking?

Yea I run C25(75/25) with mild steel. Im going to be running a triangulated 4-link so no need for panhard or watts.

Yea I used the 4g63t water pump pulley and used a press to adjust it to line up with thw pulleys since the truck water pump is longer.

Have your drive shaft lengthened how ever much needed(should not be 4") by a shop. They weld a new driveshaft tube in between the joints and balance it.

Been working on finishing up all the little things I need to do, wiring clean up and wrapping, brakes, brake lines.
Well I finally started on the brakes/lines. I'm getting rid of the stock proportioning valve and running an adjustable prop. valve so I have a few extra lines and a distribution block to get rid of. Bought a roll of copper/nickel brake tubing and got to it. This is where I'm at, line to thee rear from master cylinder is done, line to pass side is 1/3 done and I haven't started on the drivers yet but it will be short and easy. I will probably get them finished tomorrow.

Also as you can see in the first pic I got my firewall/engine bay/core support all smoothed and painted. Its not perfect but I'm happy with it for the time being, it is MUCH nicer than it previously was.

EDIT: BTW, that horrid looking valve cover will not be staying on there, I have a different version that will be getting powder coated and put in its place soon enough.

And yeah that's my dad's garage, it has tons of tools from when my GPA worked at the naval yard, and a bunch of other crap they like to hoard and not throw away. You should have seen it a year or two ago lol, before I cleaned it to be able to put my truck in there.

When we finishing the truck up? Seems it's been in the garage more then you have driven it. Got it all bagged I imagine, so it should be soon to see you in the driver seat? :)

DroppedMitsu
03-27-2016, 10:06 AM
It is driveable, but still a few kinks to work out and few things to finish up. I got the bed cut out yesterday for the notches and set back on the truck. I need to cut it for the rear diff and the top of the tubs for the tires so it will lay frame. Still have to finish the rear section of exhaust after the muffler but had to wait until I got the bed back on to do that.
And I need to work on tuning the engine. I have DSMlink(tuning software) and I'm in the learning process of learning how to tune myself, plus fixing some boost links etc. I installed a bigger turbo, bigger injectors, fuel pump, etc so I need to get the tune down so it will run perfectly, although it runs decently right now.
After I get the tune, exhaust and an alignment done it will be pretty much 100% road worthy. Oh and registration.

I'll snap some pics in a little bit with the bed and everything else a little more tidy'ed up.

BradMph
03-27-2016, 10:17 AM
Cool, I like pics. Are you connected up to the computer and exhaust sensor while tuning. I am also doing some tweak tuning to the TBird, but with a carb I have to run an AEM mixture gauge with a wideband sensor. I have yet to connect a serial port cable to the gauge and bring a computer into garage, but that will be coming soon.
Sounds like your progressing, it just has been a long time since I seen the truck with a snap shot of it sitting on the street. Document your work, I am interested with your project. :)

DroppedMitsu
03-27-2016, 05:46 PM
Yes Brad I am datalogging with my laptop(hooked to my ecu which is running an ECMLink chip) and a wideband o2 sensor(also running through my ECU/ECMLink in place of narrowband sensor). I need to fix all my boost leaks first before I can actually get to tuning it.

Ok so some pics and updates. Got the bed cut out as much as it needs to be to lay frame, its just rough cut, I still need to finish grind everywhere I cut.

Here's the flange coming off my turbo to connect to my intercooler piping, it was a little warped so it was giving me a pretty big boost leak.So a lot of sanding later(stainless steel) on a flat surface and I got it flat. Here's a pic where you can see the low spots on the left and right(guess not the upload killed the quality).

Are you serious about selling your MM? What's the spiel on this course of action?

DroppedMitsu
01-19-2017, 01:53 PM
lol........ If anybody offers me enough I'd sell it, otherwise I'll finish it someday. Not really needing to sell, just my focus/priorities in life are changing. I know most people won't give me anywhere near what it'd take for me to let it go, just put this out there. I still love my mini truck its just I have no time for it anymore(working 2nd shift now 10am-8/9/10pm) and really I'm a LOT more into Euro/Performance/exotic etc. vehicles now. My twin turbo E92 BMW is a lot more fun to upgrade and drive hard/canyon run than my MM is, although the turbo and bags combo is awesome and a lot of fun also. It also wouldn't hurt to have a few extra bucks to invest into some things I'm looking into that I'd rather not use my savings on.

It only needs the bed/gas tank stuff to be hooked up completely, little interior work, and get the tune figured out. I have driven it around the block and such.

01-19-2017, 09:20 PM
Trust me. You lose interest when you stop working on it. Stopped working on the truck and focused on my eagle talon. When I lost the talon bought an evolution 8. Worked on that for a while and only recently started working on the truck again. Look on some dsm sites and you might find something good in the classifieds for cheap. Lol.

BradMph
03-23-2017, 12:04 AM
Wow, I never thought I see this, but I understand when priorities take you in a different direction. I use to be able to do so much stuff to a vehicle in a day, now it takes me 5 times as long and I just don't have the stick in me to go do it like I use to. I hope things work out for you. :)

So, the priority....what's her name? lol JK!

DroppedMitsu
03-23-2017, 12:54 PM
Haha no worries, truck isn't going anywhere unless someone offers me a decent chunk of change for it which most likely isn't going to happen. I won't just give it away after all the hard work I put into it(and $) and the MANY, MANY years I dreamt of having a bagged mini truck. As soon as it gets warmer and stops storming up here in Northern Cali I will start working on it again. It's damn near driveable/finished(for now), just need to finish a few things and fix the tune. The thing not wanting to run properly is what really has me unmotivated.

And no, no g/f yet and even if so, no way she would be able to make me get rid of my truck unless I wanted to. Like I said I have just been having fun throwing my money into my bmw and getting much more instant satisfaction/enjoyment from it. But I have definitely been thinking about my truck lately and have the itch to get it finished. Thanks for the motivation guys.

still have the truck...... hasn't really been worked on in years but that is changing. I have been working on it lately since I have a dirt bike again and need a truck to get to the track. I have been trying to get the motor running well with the ECM link and stuff, its idling and running like shit right now. Also still need to cut a crossmember and plate it so the exhaust fits over it better and then finish the exhaust. Then fix/find out why my brakes suck, and finish the fuel filler for my bed to tank. The truck looks pretty much exactly like the last photos posted in here.
