Ok guys here is a good question...

what is the difference between the DFEV and DGEV Weber carburetors?

I came across two ebay auctions with the authentic weber carbs and they both say they are for our trucks. Please someone break down the main difference between them and tell me the one I need for my application. My D50 has a 2.0 and an Automatic transmission.

I believe one is manual and one is electric choke, and one has throttle linkage on front and other on the back llike stock. This is off the top of my head from when I used to run a weber so I might be a lil off.

Hmm No I don't think the choke is different between the two. They are both electric choke as described by the "E" in the model numbers.

The throttle linkage could actually be the difference between them....

if that is the only difference then I might as well pull the trigger on the lower priced one.

Now last question would be, will my original AT step down fit on either one of these with out making it a pain in the arse?
Or is it a major modification to make either of them work for an AT?

If anyone else can chime in that would help greatly.

Thanks Camoit for the link to the sticky thread. it confirms the only difference is the DFEV is oriented the same way the stock Mikuni is situated.

however it doesn't answer the question on how to hook up the AT kick down linkage to the Weber carb.

Can anyone post pics and or explain the proceedure. i'm a follow directions kinda guy and it would help immensely.

We have a full size WEBER manual that I uploaded in our manual section of this site. It should have your information within this download. It also is a great source for the WEBER carb that goes beyond what Redline supplies.

I wish I could tell you on that one. But I never had an automatic. Pennyman has the quick answer. I think I remember reading it is set so it moves the linkage the moment the throttle moves. It needs to move through the hole range. But don't quote me on it.

weber makes a arm to use to work the kickdown linkage on the carb. Redline Weber should have them.
