Ok this is my build thread for my 1989 Mitsubishi Mighty Max.... I traded it for my old trailer... 99599960 I drove from las vegas, nevada to mesquite, nevada... about an hours drive... when I got there the previous owner had filled the the bed with a ton of extra parts..... spare engine, trans, doors, hood, and a bunch of other misc parts....
My goal for this truck is mild....

lower it around 3in in the front and 4in in the back
get some basic 16" rims
fix some front end slop
mild engine work Cam,header/exhaust, and carb

nothing major just a daily/ work truck...
ive built a couple of other vehicles before so i have some experience just not really familiar with carburetors....

LETS GET IT,LETS GO!!!!

Ok so when I got it,the previous owner said that the carb was dirty so it didnt want to stay running... so i looked into it... looked at the carb and it had a bunch of vaccum leaks in different areas... so i put new hoses and tried again.... same thing... so then i decided to buy a weber carb and swap it out... well when i took the carb off. the intake manifold was filled with coolant... i guess the gasket separating the coolant gallery and the #4 cylinder busted open and coolant was splooshing in... also im waiting on the weber adaptor plate so i can put it on... so now just cleaning and waiting

I just swapped to 5 lug. My 6 lugs are for sale.
The block kit is for the rear. It is 2 brand new blocks, brand new hardware, and my old U-bolts which are cut down to fit the mighty max. I had to get longer U-bolts for the 8.8 axle, so my old ones are in a brand new kit.

You an swing by the shop and check it all out if you want.

alright so a little update.... i finally got it running after it being so hot and busy... i found out that the balance shaft belt actually snapped and was in just rubbing on the timing belt... so i replaced it and redid the timing.... then i addressed the whole carb-fuel pump problem.. bought the fuel pump, pressure regulator, and fuel lines... had a little issue with the timing, but its all good now... now... BOOST.... lol jkjk.. i cant relapse... but thats all for now... i will be posting videos real soon

so i installed the stereo in the truck wired it all up and then turned it on... hooked up my iphone and no music... i was checking the volume, checking the connections, then found out that the speakers were missing... i found them in the glove compartment but they were not the right ones... they dont fit... so i have to get new ones ugh...

The dash was another story... it was old cracked some of the lights were out... so i found another one from my stash... i cleaned it up replaced the bulbs, and hooked it up.... it looks way better now... a lot brighter with all the dirty and dust gone

It's coming together nicely - the new rims look great. Doubt you'll find a pair of speakers like the factory items but you can try installing 4" dual cones in there with a rectangular surround plate to hold them in place (break out the tape measure and check if the recess is wide enough)
