The 194 / 168 bulbs in the instrument cluster - the same ones I am about to change for the same reason.

How many are in the Instrament cluster? I may do the same thing.

there was only two in mine. i went from the green rubber coated halogen to green smds. quite noticeably brighter. i replaced the brake lights as well and about to do the same with the license plate lights.

Should be three total 194 bulbs actually, at least for the cluster w/o the tach. 2 for for the front lighting that are towards the bottom of the cluster, and one is in the center higher up on the backside that illuminates the odometer & tripometer. Just recently pulled my bulbs out and removed the green coating off the bulbs. Will also be getting some LED's pretty soon to replace them. For now, the white light is alot easier to deal with than the green.

Also - the shift indicator on A/T trucks like mine takes a 74 bulb. I replaced my instrument cluster LED's with 5000K 194 LED's from V-leds.com and my shift indicator and also the cigarette outlet light.

For what its worth, V-Leds has an AWESOME led dome light replacement. Pure, bright white and well worth it!
