What is this light?

Here's a question that isn't nearly as urgent as the seat belt one was. Is the light on the back of the cab a high-mount stop light or just a dome light for the bed?

Mine has been replaced with.. I think it's electrical tape. I'm not in a hurry to fix it, but want to eventually because I imagine the tape is not going to keep water out forever. Just so I know what to look for, what am I looking for?

On the earlier 2nd gens before they went to the LED third brake light they are just a light for the bed

If the socket is still there for a bulb, stick a bulb in and a.) step on the brake then b.) switch on the courtesy light. One of two things will happen :)

Also, I have no idea where a cargo light switch would be, but might see if there IS one.

I'm prone to think it is a cargo light. Do let us know when you figure it out.

On an '88 model, that will be a bed lamp. The 93/94+ models had high mount brake lights to meet US DOT regulations.

Mine is a cargo light controlled by the interior dome switch above back glass.

I cant find the light fixture, or even a bulb for the interior anywhere.

I have an '86 Mini Ram Sport (maybe different than Max) but my dome light/switch is in the middle of cab above the back glass. It is small just 2.5". There is a dimple in the roof metal for it. I hope this helps. Yours might have been removed for some reason or another.

Right its been removed. What I am saying is I cannot find a replacement fixture or bulb anywhere.
