Check the switch on the parking brake.

Check the switch on the parking brake.
Where is that located? Right where the brake handle is in the cab?

Should be at the bottom of the hand-brake handle, just above the gas pedal. Make sure it's mounted properly and not wiggling around. It's a VERRRy simple switch.

which brake light are you talking about - the one on the dash or the ones on the bed? There is also a switch on the brake resevior that could be a problem

Be aware it is also an indicator of low brake fluid level in your master cylinder. My emergency brake mechanism wouldn't release all the way until I got under the truck, just behind drivers door, and lubricated it. If you don't use your e brake very often, it gets a little balky.

Good catch Lush90, I bet you hit it on the head. My Toyota MR2 does exactly the same thing when fluid gets low from a slow leaking wheel cylinder.

This is the next project for my PU. The BRAKE light on the dash cluster stays on no matter if the Emergency brake is on or not. I'm hoping it's an EASY fix like adjusting the brake switch. I'll post it in my thread when I get it fixed. If anyone else has any other suggestions please post. Thanks in advance!

Is it the brake warning light or the hand brake/e-brake light? If it's the e-brake the switch needs adjusting but otherwise - http://www.mightyram50.net/vbulletin/showthread.php/6375-Newbie-with-Dad-s-1994-Mighty-Max?p=59957&viewfull=1#post59957

Not sure about the '94, but my '90 has one light for both functions. Last time it stayed on, my fluid level was low. Topped it off, and the light went off. For me, this was a precurser to replacing the master cylinder, but normal brake wear will cause the light to come on occasionally.
