Hey guys! I was trolling the junkyards today and found an extended cab 4x4 Mighty Max for dirt cheap.
I have an 88' 4g64/4g63t Ram 50 4x4 long bed, I'll be pulling the bed off this winter and building a flat bed for the truck.
I would love to snag the cab, I haven't ever seen one in our local yard before and it's in excellent condition.
Does anyone know if the extended cab will be a direct bolt on? Has anyone made a long truck an extended cab before?
I also found a couple other goodies, the OEM fender flares, and auto locking hubs. Are the auto locking hubs a direct swap? I have manually locking hubs now.
Thanks!
B

As far as the frame is concerned it looks like your good to go. Seems the only differences are between the 2 WD and the 4WD with the 4WD having extra components for the added driveline equipment. The locking hubs I have no answer for, but we have people here that can answer that for you.

the frames are the same length, but the cab and bed mounts are different for the extended cab and the shorter bed, possibly the gas tank as well. Take measurements of your long bed cab, bed and tank mounts and then the extended cab mounts then decide for yourself.

I went today & pulled most everything and stashed it. Wednesdays are 50% off, I'll pull the cab then. Any idea what the cab weighs? I only have one helper and may have to have a couple friends take work off to help me. Now if I could just find an interior other than blue or brown! uhg.

Got a bunch of goodies today! Auto hubs, fenders, OEM 4wd mud flaps, perfect tailgate, fenders, 4wd grill and a perfect condition hood. No go on the cab! Four of us couldn't lift it! Next week I'm taking 5 other guys, should be able to snag it with 6 of us.

don't they have a forklift to lift the cars with? Most upullits I have been to will move big items like that for free to your vehicle...

They do have them, however they are not willing to help. :(

The auto hubs are not worth swapping to if you have manual hubs. The manual hubs definitely engage, auto hubs not all the time.
